Gladys loved children and her greatest joy in life was being a granny.Ī memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. The family wishes to pay special thanks to Lisa McCrary and niece Layne Smith for their loving care of Gladys and to Austin Hospice. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Jason and Sandra West of Austin Texas, Tim and Connie Johle of Lampasas, Texas, granddaughter and husband Kristy and Eric Morua of Lampasas, Texas, great-grandson Kaiser Morua, of Lampasas, Texas, sister and brother-in-law Jennifer and Dan Rosas of Round Rock, Texas and sister Shirley Evans of Taylor, Texas. ![]() She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, JC West, granddaughter Chelsi Nicole West, brothers and sisters-in-law Marvin and Kathleen Brinkmeyer and Jimmy and Ruthie Brinkmeyer. She retired as the administrative assistant to the Pastor after having worked at the church for over 30 years. She started in the Child Care Center, where she established many working relationships with women who would become lifelong friends. She grew up in and around the Thrall area and graduated high school in Taylor, Texas.Īs an adult, Gladys moved to Austin, Texas where she remarried and raised two sons. ![]() DT Thompson delivers Gladys West with the Air Force Space and Missile Pioneers Hall of Fame award for her work. One of five children, Gladys was born November 16, 1931, at home in Thrall, Texas to parents Fritz and Louise Brinkmeyer. at 3:10 am Expand Air Force Space Command Vice Commander Lt. She was surrounded by her family in her home in Austin, Texas. Gladys Louise Brinkmeyer West peacefully entered heaven’s gates on at the age of 90.
